prefab gas to wood burning

my home is 4 yrs old and has a vented gas fireplace which i hate. i have always had a wood stove and miss the heat and smell of wood burning. is it possible to convert this to a wood burning stove insert. i figured i spend approximately $1400. a year to maintain this gas fireplace and with fuel costs going up will only increase. to me it would be cost effective to change over if this is possible. thanks.
