i have a majestic fireplace insert and cannot find serial or model number. i am converting to propane and need the back panel of the liner. also is it safe to use fireplace without all of the liner?

it is called a fireplace panel and it would be wise to get a hold of a local certified chimney company to do this. it should not matter the brand, thay can be cut to size.
the panel needs to be flush against the back, however it should have a metal plate and firebrick of some sort behind it.
the fireplace company will make sure that the panel is installed correctly. i cannot stress enough that with this type of repair, make sure they know what they are doing, you're paying for it!!!
